The Eagle 32 with retracting keel is a wonderful fast cruiser even more compelling when you consider the possibilities offered by the variable retracting keel. With the keel fully retracted, you can belly up to a secluded sandbar and walk ashore without getting your bermuda shorts wet, or lower the keel and go offshore. With the keel fully extended, draft is 6'6". Not only is she a stiff boat with her ballast low in bulb at the tip of the keel, but she's a remarkable performer on all points of sail.
Her keel is adjusted vertically by stainless cable routed through bronze turning blocks to a powerful stainless electric winch mounted in a compartment just below the cabin roof, six feet above the water.
